The Port of Algeciras Bay, located on the Strait of Gibraltar, is Spain’s number one port and remains at the top of the Mediterranean league for volume of activity, standing out especially in Total Cargo and Container throughput figures, returning over 75 million tonnes and 3.3 million TEUs respectively in 2008. At the same time, our port’s Ro-Ro (HGV) traffic is booming, with import-export traffic between Europe and Northern Morocco returning over 220,000 HGVs per year.
