There are no tidal access restrictions as the marina is dredged to 2.5 metres below chart datum. Weymouth is ideally situated mid-way between The Solent and the West Country and provides the shortest crossing to France west of Folkestone.If you plan to travel to the Channel Islands then Weymouth is the closest departure point for the islands, and Condor Ferries run a Fast Cat ferry service to Guernsey and Jersey.

With modern facilities and superb bluewater cruising, it's popular with yachtsmen from home and overseas. The 440 berth marina is next to the Pavilion Shopping Centre, a beautifully restored Edwardian building, and right in the centre of the town giving easy access to shops, restaurants and bars. There are various marine tenants on site providing chandlery, boat brokerage and new boat sales. Basic provisions are available from the dock office and there is a restaurant and café, perfect for when you've worked up an appetite on the water.

Queen Anne's Battery (QAB) is therefore a popular marina with long-term berth holders and many visitors during the summer months. Offering outstanding facilities for yachtsmen and motor cruisers alike, it has 235 permanent berths for boats up to 18 metres and a visitors' area with alongside pontoon berthing. Besides a chandlery, brokerage and yacht charter, there is a provisions shop selling essential items as well as a café, bar and restaurant. QAB is also home to the Royal Western Yacht Club and many international short-handed yacht races start and finish here, including the single-handed Transatlantic Race.
