The town of Zumaia belongs to the historical territory of Gipuzkoa, and is one of the most important towns on the Basque coast. Its port is located in the interior of a natural bay formed by the mouth of the river Urola.

In recent years there has been significant work on improving access, ensuring a depth of 5 meters at low tide at the mouth and 3.5 meters along the channel. In this bay sheltered from the prevailing winds from the NW, is the modern marina of Zumaia with a capacity of 548 boats of up to 15 meters.

Bray Marina is situated in a country park setting, providing berth holders with a delightfully tranquil mooring. From the marina there is direct access to the Thames and there are extensive well-maintained facilities available for all boat owners. There are many attractions in the vicinity. Upstream is the National Trust property, Cliveden, with its extensive gardens and woodlands. Cookham is home of the Queen's Swan Keeper, who can sometimes be seen in his traditional costume. Further on still is Hambledon Mill; from here the river is navigable as far as Lechlade. Downstream lie the historic towns and villages of Windsor, Eton, Datchet and Runnymede.
