Southdown Marina is a small, friendly marina in the picturesque River Tamar. It lies a quarter of a mile from Plymouth Sound. Situated in rural surroundings, Southdown Marina is both family and pet friendly and just a short dinghy ride away is the City of Plymouth.rnrnThis marina is on the Cornish side of the River Tamar. The location is sheltered and well placed for exploring. The marina lies within the jurisdiction of the Queen's Harbourmaster. Berths are walk-on pontoons or quayside and helpful personnel can assist you with enquiries about facilities and services.

Situated in the shelter of Southampton Water, Ocean Village is more than a marina. Surrounded by a wealth of shops, restaurants, cinemas and bars, it offers outstanding recreational facilities. Overlooking the marina is The Royal Southampton Yacht Club which, although a members club, offers berth holders and visitors a warm and friendly welcome. The basin, formerly used for commercial ships, is deep enough to offer mooring facilities for tall ships and large yachts and has become famous for hosting the start and/or finish of around the world yacht races such as the BT Global Challenge. From the marina, there is direct access to superb and varied cruising. To the west is the picturesque Beaulieu River and the surrounding New Forest.

The modern marina in deep water is accessible 24 hours a day at all states of the tide. No lock gates or sill to negotiate. The harbour entrance faces south east and is protected from the prevailing winds, it is 80 meters wide and dredged to 4.5 meters under LAT. The marina is protected by two main breakwaters. One in the south and the other north-east. Opened in 1990, Saint-Quay Port d'Armor continues its programme of improvements and modernization. The northern part of the harbour is dedicated to the fishing fleet.
Numerous cruising or day sailing opportunities are possible from St Quay. A few minutes away are the Isles of St Quay, ideal for a picnic or fishing, they spread over a few miles into the bay of St Brieuc, which is sheltered from the predominant winds and is the ideal location for numerous regattas all year round.
