Hartlepool Marina is one of the most modern Marina facilities in Europe. Featuring one of Europe's biggest boat hoists and attracting hundreds of vessels, the £60 million Marina is Hartlepool's most alluring and relaxing location. High fashion, waterside restaurants and romantic promenades may be more characteristic of a continental port, but Hartlepool has definitely made marina life a delicacy of its own.

Shamrock Quay is a marina steeped in history, taking its name from the famous J-class yacht, Shamrock V, which was built on this site in 1931 to challenge for the America's Cup. This 255 berth marina is still a major centre for refit and boat building with many specialist trades on site, as well as a bar, continental restaurant, cafe and shops. Following a £1.5 million refurbishment it now boasts a 70 metre specialist superyacht berth, a 60 metre visitor berth and a modern shower and toilet block featuring a purpose-designed facility for disabled berth holders. Head down Southampton Water and there are numerous cruising opportunities available. There is plenty of racing action in the Solent and a weekend in the Channel Islands is easily possible.

Based at the entrance to Chichester Harbour Sparkes Yacht Harbour allows fast and easy access at all states of the tide into the Solent. As well as full maintenance facilities, the complex also has a chandlery, brokerage and a bar/bistro which offers superb views across Chichester Harbour.

Swanwick Marina is situated on the eastern bank of the River Hamble, near Bursledon Bridge, and approximately two miles upriver from its entrance on Southampton Water. Its sheltered location and excellent facilities make it an ideal base for exploring the Solent and cruising further afield on both sides of the channel. Besides being a picturesque waterway, the River Hamble is one of the most important yachting centres in the UK.

Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, is a picturesque fishing, ferry and yachting port widely regarded as one of the jewels of the South Coast. The deepwater harbour retains its old world aura while visiting yachtsmen will find a range of amenities which are very much up to date. Plentiful berths for cruising yachts and rallies are augmented by 38 moorings off the Harbour. Yarmouth Town is well stocked for provisioning and chandlery, and visitors will find no shortage of hostelries, cafes and restaurants for inner refreshment.

The Port of Ramsgate features a 700 berth Royal Harbour Marina with facilities designed to meet the most discerning boaters.
